March 10, 2016 A regular seminar as a part of “Sociology of Religion. Concept and operationalization of religion and religiosity in sociological research” series took place at the “Sociology of Religion” Research Laboratory (PSTGU). Elena Prutskova presented a report based on R.Stark’s article “Gods, Rituals, and the Moral Order” (Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion 40.4 (2001). 619-636). During the seminar we discussed the approaches to the explanation of the reasons why in some countries religion has a significant impact on the moral values of the population, while in other countries this influence is almost invisible.
