On December 26, 2025, the Reporting Conference of the «Sociology of Religion» Research Laboratory took place. A total of nine reports were presented across various thematic sections.
In the section on the sociology of family, Elena Pavlyutkina presented two reports. One was dedicated to a survey of leaders of Orthodox schools, and the second presented the educational choice trajectories of Orthodox youth. Also speaking in this section were: Ivan Pavlyutkin, who shared the results of the seminar on the project «The Reality of Large Families in the Social and Human Sciences: Taking Stock of Theory and Developing Research Methods», along with plans for 2026; Maria Sokerina, with a research project on the comparative ethnography of Orthodox and state schools; and Nina Lyubinarskaya, with a report on her work on the final monograph for the project «Awareness of family life by young couples. An analysis of three waves of interviews from the perspective of the relational sociology».
In the section dedicated to the third wave of the sociological study “Orthodox Monitor,” project leader Elena Prutskova presented the results of the first year’s work.
In the section on ethnomethodology and the project «Community and Liturgy: The Space of the Orthodox Church in Communicative Practices of Parishioners», Svetlana Bankovskaya and Victoria Idolenko presented a report titled “Field Organization in Ethnomethodological Church Research.”
Elizaveta Solovyova presented a report on the texts and key ideas of the first draft of the monograph finalizing the results of the «Living Communities» project.
At the end of the first part of the conference, Valeria Elagina announced the launch of a seminar, planned for early 2026, dedicated to the concept of justice in social sciences and in the parish reality of the Orthodox community.
The second part of the conference featured a round table discussion on the process of organizing an open conference for the «Sociology of Religion» laboratory.
