Photo exhibition “The living life. Priest in small towns” with laboratory participating

May 16 an exhibition of a photographer Sergey Pronin opened at PSTGU. It is devoted to various aspects of the clerical ministry in small towns in three sections: “Partnership Parish”, “Life not for oneself”, “Priest is everywhere”.

The exhibition represents the stories of several Orthodox priests from small towns in the photo series. For explications, the data from “Sociology of Religion” laboratory projects is used, in particular, the quotations from interviews collected within the framework of the project “Priest in the Church and Society” and also the info graphics based on the study “Russian Orthodox Church Social Work: evaluation of quantitative characteristics”.

Moreover, the section of the exhibition “Partnership Parish” is inspired by the monograph of the same name that was published by the laboratory scholars in 2018 and presents the results from the research on the social work of the Russian Orthodox Church.

At the opening ceremony, a member of our research team Tatiana Krikhtova talked about how field work for the project “The Priest in the Modern World” was carried out. She also highlighted the need for a further dialogue between science and art.
