The videoconference was attended by families with many children from Moscow, Arkhangelsk, Rostov, Samara and Tyumen regions, the Republic of Dagestan, and Altai and Khabarovsk territories, as well as Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Anna Kuznetsova.
The Moscow region was represented by the Head of the “Sociology of Religion” Research Laboratory, vice-rector of the Theology Institute at St. Tikhon’s Orthodox University archpriest N. Emelyanov and his family.
During the meeting, archpriest N. Emelyanov drew the President’s attention to the lack of grants on the topic of family studies in Russia. In response, V. Putin said, “As for the work of your laboratory, of course, it would be interesting and useful for us to see the results of your work, especially since you received our grant. I hope that you will provide these materials to Ms Kuznetsova so that the results could be used in the practical work of the government, various ministries and departments that are directly related to this issue.
As for the topic itself, the family studies, since it is not in the list of those themes for which grants are given, of course, we will include it. This is right, it should be done, and it will inevitably be in demand. So thank you very much”.
