About the project
This research deals with factors which condition/or interfere with formation and development of parish communities in contemporary Russian cities.
The research is based on (1) in-depth interviews with priests, rectors and parishioners, (2) parish priests and church social workers survey. Along with the empirical inquiry, international theory and practice of parish sociology and church communities research is studied. In the course of the first phase (March – November, 2010) about 32 interviews were conducted; about 450 questionnaires from priests, rectors and social workers cover all 14 deaneries of Moscow Eparchy.
