Tomsk State University hosted a Forum of Field Interviewers on September 28-30. This event was about features of the profession of field interviewer – a person who collects data for sociological, anthropological and ethnographic research, talking to people. This was a first event on this issue in Russia. The forum considered two main issues: the methodology of interviewing and the problem of data falsification in research.
Tatiana Krihtova and Kirill Aleksin made a presentation “The priest’s time budget: anthropology and theology in the field project”. They shared their experience of working in the relevant projects of SocRel: “Analysis of the Time-Budget and Types of Activities of Priests” and “Priest in the church and society: analysis of time-budgets” and methodological findings.
The organizers of the forum were TSU, Khamovniki Foundation, Public Opinion Foundation, Laboratory of Social Research Methodology, Institute for Social Analysis and Prognosis of Russian Presidental Academy (RANEPA), Center for Sociological and Marketing Studies Context, Laboratory of Social Anthropological Studies of TSU.
