April 24-26, 2018, the Second International Conference “Impact of Religion: Challenges for Society, Law and Democracy” was held at Uppsala University. The conference marked the completion of a ten-year interdisciplinary research program implemented at the University of Uppsala. The key topics related to the contacts between religion and secular morality, ethics and law. Scientists and researchers from different fields of humanities and social sciences, as well as theologians, lawyers and others took part in the conference.
Daria Oreshina and Polina Batanova represented the laboratory with their independent presentations. Daria talked about the social work of the Orthodox parishes, summing up the research project on parish social work, and Polina ran a discussion on intergenerational religiosity in families, based on on the materials of the international research project “Young Adults and Religion in the Global Perspective”.
