28 June – 1 July, 2016 at University of Helsinki (Finland) the Conference of European Association for the Study of Religions (EASR) titled “Relocating Religion” took place. This time the EASR conference was aimed to offer the opportunity to explore changes and continuities in the forms, practices and implications of religion at all levels of societies and cultures, in the past as well as in the present.
29 June Polina Batanova (Vrublevskaya) and Dr Marat Shterin (King’s College London, UK) presented the preliminary results of an international research project “Young Adults and Religion in a Global Perspective” which has been acomplished this year in Russia among other 12 countries. Presentation entitled “No Converts but Abundance of Seekers: Russian Young People’s Engagements with Religion” was focused on analysis of interview materials and contained some suggestions for conceptualization of current situation with young adults’ engagements with religion in contemporary Russia.
